The grounds are lush, well-groomed and mature. You’ll see ancient monkey-pod trees with huge bromeliads as well as lots of orchids. (Not to mention Kahuna MOIR cactus and orchid garden.The gardens were created in the 1930s by Alexandra Moir while her husband was manager of Hawaii's first sugarcane plantation, Koloa Plantation. By 1948 the private gardens were reportedly identified as "one of the ten best cactus and succulent gardens in the world." They opened to the public in 1954. Kiahuna is also blessed with being on a world-class beach, Kiahuna Beach. It’s backed by a huge lawn. In fact, the entire resort is paved with bountiful grass.

Unit 303, located on the first floor of Building 38 (3 minute walk to the Beach) looks out over the heart of the famous Moir Garden located on the grounds of Kiahuna Plantation among the beach bungalows.
The light and comfortable living, dining and kitchen areas are open to each other, with a large sliding door that takes you out onto the furnished lanai. There is a full bath with shower and tub, and separate vanity area. Recently up-graded bath and kitchen with travertine tile in bath
The Kiahuna Plantation is the only beach front condominium resort in Poipu. The white sand beach, backed by green lawns, palm trees and tropical gardens is perfect to relax or enjoy swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding or surfing. Towels and lounge chairs are provided free to guests at the beach-side activity hut. You will experience why the beach has been rated one of the best beach in the world by USA Today.
The garden is home to many rare plants; including succulents and cactus, bromeliads, orchids, century trees, and beautiful water lily ponds with koi fish. There is no admittance fee to enter and enjoy the Moir Garden. You will feel comfortable and right at home in our recently remodeled and nicely furnished vacation home. Historic Koloa Town is just a few minutes away. Explore more of Kauai with a scenic drive West to Waimea, or East to Lihue, the Wailua River, Kapaa Town, and Hanalei on the North shore.

The Garden Island offers an endless amount of outdoor activity, whether you're looking to hike, kayak, swim or relax on the beach. By and far the most popular attraction on the island is the one-of-a-kind Napali Coast, which is best seen on foot hiking the infamous Kalalau Trail, trekking the edges of Koke’e State Park or from the air on a helicopter tour. You can also explore the waters surrounding the coast via one of the best Kauai boat tours. If you're looking for a little less adventure, consider visiting the lower-impact Wailua River State Park or taking a dip in the calm waters of Poipu Beach Park or Kalapaki Beach. A cancellation notice must be received in writing. The refunds are made only in case we can re-rent the cancelled dates. $200 cancellation fee applies to all cancellations. We make all efforts to re-rent all cancellations. If we are able to re-rent the cancelled dates for the full rent amount indicated in Guest’s Rental Agreement, we will refund all moneys paid by Guest less $200 cancellation fee. If we are able to re-rent the cancelled dates for less than the full rent amount indicated in Guest’s Rental Agreement, we will refund the remainder (if any) of all moneys paid by Guest less $200 cancellation fees and less the difference between the original rent and the amount we can recover by re-renting. For cancellations on or after arrival date all funds are forfeited. Early departure does not warrant any refunds. Travel insurance is advised.
Rates are displayed in US Dollars. The larger of $200 or 25% of the rent Deposit is required to book. Balance is due 60-90 days prior to check-in, depending on season (90 days in winters Dec 15 - Apr 15). Payments by personal checks or money orders are preferred to avoid fees. Wire transfers and Paypal/credit card payments are accepted, if the guest covers the incurred fees.
This is a payment of $300 collected from the guest to cover possible damage to the property. It is fully refunded within 10 business days if there are no damages. We inventory and inspect the property before and after every stay.The guest will be charged for missing items, excessive cleaning, violations of the house rules, and any damage done to the property beyond normal wear and tear.
Release of Liability
Guests are granted access to Rental Property and many of amenities that exist within the property. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guests agree to use any personal and real property belonging to the Homeowner at their own risk and agree to release Homeowner of all liability associated with using such property. Homeowner cannot be held responsible or liable for injuries that occur while Guest is in possession or use of property. Guests agree to further to take on any liability associated with a third-party guest visiting the Rental Property or use of the Homeowner's property. Homeowner does not permit use of any of Homeowner's Property other than by the Guest and hereby disclaims any claims of liability associated with the Rental Property or property within and around the rental unit.
Check-in time is 3 PM. Check-out time is 11 AM. NO early check-ins or late check-outs, unless specified in your rental agreement. Maximum occupancy: 4 guests. NO SMOKING is permitted in or around the unit, including lanai. NO PETS are permitted. Violation will result in the loss of your security deposit.

Roaches are a common problem in the tropics. Please keep the kitchen clean from bread crumbs and food spills. Dispose of all trash at least every day.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Please be respectful of others. No loud parties, no music outside after 10 pm.
No pets allowed.
Smoking is not permitted inside the unit or on the lanai. Smoking is permitted outside in the designated areas only.
Check the furniture, closets and washer/dryer for you personal belongings. Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start the washing cycle. All furniture should be in the same place as it was on your arrival. Turn down all lights and the air conditioner. Lock all windows and doors. Return the keys to the lobby.

Everything was as advertised. This was our third trip to Kiahuna Plantation. For the price and having such a nice beach area you cannot beat it. You can either lay out on the sand or stay up on the grass, above the sand, which we like. Chairs and towels are available at no cost. You can swim, learn to surf board, or do some snorkeling (somewhat limited).
The fans have always been all we have needed but we do travel in Feb. when things are a little cooler. The walk to the beach area takes 3 to 4 mins., I walk slow.
Improvements have been made to the restaurant which were needed. Food was good and drinks were better and of course bring your wallet.
The TV had cable with many, many channels. I did notice the channels duplicated themselves with different numbers but still more channels than you will ever need. Smaller flat screen. Had a very good wifi connection for us, we do not game. Also, as most do, the cable channel had many music channels which we really enjoyed.
The view of the MOIR garden is right off the patio and it is great. You can see the ocean if you really look hard through the vegetation.
We did not use the pool or gym this trip (should have). When we were there several years ago it was very nice. With it being across the road from the main complex does take away from using the complex but then again there is value to keeping the grounds nice and no noise from a pool area.
For individuals going on your first trip to Hawaii there are two things you need to keep in mind. First, the price of food is very high. This includes the grocery store. They do have a Walmart, Costco, and Safeway as well as smaller stores but things do cost a lot more here. Second, is the day/night you leave. It makes a long day if you do not plan out your last day. As a sidebar traffic is an issue around Lihue, Wailua, and Kapaa.
We are seniors, from a colder state and we do love Hawaii.

Can't beat Hawaii

Four and a half stars.
We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was fantastic and the owner was very helpful with the booking.
The condo isn't brand new but has been upgraded and is VERY well maintained and although it is a ground floor unit at the entrance the lanai overlooking the garden is actually at second floor height so you have quite a bit of privacy.
Speaking of the garden it is the only thing that kept us from giving a 5 star rating (there is no 4.5 rating). Although the gardens are very nice no one seems to be maintaining them. Some of the paths through them have been allowed to grow in and the water features are not operating. It is still a nice place but it seems to be "unloved" and returning to it's original state.
Other than the garden everything is first rate. The beach is a 3 minute walk away and there are plenty of beach chairs. It's even closer to a wall that people sit on and watch the sun set over the ocean. There is a golf course within walking distance as well as shopping and restaurants.
The closet is full of beach gear including boogie boards and snorkel gear and the kitchen is well stocked if you decided to cook.
So if don't need to have everything shiny and new and are happy with a more comfortable but still clean and thoughtfully upgraded place that has a homey feel you can't go wrong with this rental.
