If you love to swim in the ocean, if you have kids who like to play in the sand and go wading, if you want to stroll on a beach holding hands as the sun sets, then our well-equipped, clean-and-comfy ground-floor condo at the Maui Banyan in Kihei is your ideal headquarters.
Our condo is less than two minutes' walk to the beach. In fact, at night or early morning, you can often hear the waves as you lie in bed. The condo complex as a whole is attractive and peaceful. Right out the door of our unit is a sizeable shaded, grassy area with a BBQ grill and stone table that feels quite private and is suitable for reading a book, playing with the kids or hosting a family reunion.
You're within a 10- minute walk of at least nine restaurants - Mexican, Hawaiian, sushi, tacos, pizza, steak/seafood, Indian, natural food, a bistro/deli and more.
As a 2 BD/2 BA air-conditioned unit, you'll have ample space for a family of up to six, or two couples and a few kids, to comfortably spread out and enjoy a thrifty vacation. It's on the ground floor, so you'll never have to lug stuff up a bunch of stairs or wait for an elevator.
You get a master bedroom with a king bed, a living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen with stove/oven, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker, silverware and more, while the second bedroom has two double beds. The unit includes a washer/dryer, two full bathrooms, adjacent to each of the bedrooms, and two shaded lanais (patios), each with table and chairs.
There is a door between the second bedroom and the kitchen/living room that you can close to create privacy for the parents, kids or a second couple. The main bedroom has a ceiling fan and TV, and the living room sofa opens up for extra sleeping space. Parking for one car is free.
Included is a generous allotment of beach equipment: beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel sets, boogie board, pails and shovels for kids, and beach towels. Maximum occupancy for the 2-bedroom unit: 6 people.
By renting directly from the owner, you need not pay a "service fee," a "booking fee" or a "daily amenity fee," yet have access to all the Maui Banyan amenities, such as the tennis court, outdoor grills, two swimming pools, hot tubs and more. And either way, you get just about all the paraphernalia needed for a great beach vacation: at least four portable beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, boogie board, adult and kid snorkel sets and a multitude of kids' beach toys.
Also included are sunsets so fabulous you'll want to arrange your dinner hour around them.

Listed rates do not include 14.42% Hawaii state tax and one-time cleaning fee, which is $140. Once confirmed, your rate will not change. A refundable $100 deposit holds your reservation for 4 days (unless the booking is less than 30 days away, in which case the deposit is not refundable).
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival (60 days for holiday bookings) will receive a complete refund minus a $100 handling fee. Otherwise, cancellations or changes in your length of stay receive no refund.
Until further notice, special policies outlined in our "Maui Covid-19 Travel Guide" (available upon request) apply. You will need to sign the last page of that document, signifying that you agree to those terms, and return the signed form to us before you can receive the entry code for the condo.
In addition, if prior to your trip to Hawaii the State of Hawaii revokes its pre-travel testing program and reinstates a 14-day quarantine for all travelers from outside the state, we will refund your booking fee in full, regardless of the regular cancellation policy above. We strongly recommend you purchase trip insurance to cover you in case someone in your group tests positive for Covid-19 prior to or during your trip.
Half of your total amount owed is due within 4 days of your booking. The remainder is due no later than 30 days prior to arrival (60 days for holiday bookings). Payments are accepted by credit card (processed by Paypal), bank wire or check drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. dollars.
We expect our guests to treat our property with respect and do not charge a security deposit.
Release of Liability
Guests are granted access to Rental Property and many of amenities that exist within the property. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guests agree to use any personal and real property belonging to the Homeowner at their own risk and agree to release Homeowner of all liability associated with using such property. Homeowner cannot be held responsible or liable for injuries that occur while Guest is in possession or use of property. Guests agree to further to take on any liability associated with a third-party guest visiting the Rental Property or use of the Homeowner's property. Homeowner does not permit use of any of Homeowner's Property other than by the Guest and hereby disclaims any claims of liability associated with the Rental Property or property within and around the rental unit.
Nonsmokers only, please! There is no smoking inside the unit, on the lanais or in the adjacent yard.

Fabulous for family reunion
Thanks, Marcia, for providing the setting for a perfect three-generation get-together. We had 12 family members in all, coming from Asia and California, with 6 of them staying in your condo. Although your condo wasn't as spiffy as the other condo family members stayed in, everything worked (unlike at the other place!) and we loved the location - so near the beach. Two nights we all had BBQ in your yard and appreciated the setup there. The kids were able to do their thing near us and not wander off because your yard is protected. We hope to come back again in two years and will book your condo again. - Wendy M.
